Summary

Walk: Routes & Reminders (in the following referred to as "Walk")  is a privacy-first walk-tracking app for iPhone and Apple Watch. Everything you record stays on your device or in your personal Apple Health and iCloud accounts. We do not run a server, we do not collect analytics, we do not use any third-party tracking or advertising SDKs, and we never sell your data. The only people who can see your walks are you and anyone you choose to share them with through Apple's own features.

Data we handle

Location

While you are recording a walk, Walk uses your device's GPS to draw your route, calculate distance, pace, and elevation gain. Location is only collected during an active recording session and is processed entirely on your device. Walk requests background location access so that recording continues when your screen is off or you switch apps; the iOS blue location indicator is visible whenever this happens.

Apple Health (HealthKit)

Walk reads and writes Apple Health data, with your explicit permission:

HealthKit data lives in Apple Health on your device. Walk never sends HealthKit data off-device. Apple's encryption and policies apply to the data once it is in Apple Health. You can revoke read or write permission at any time in Settings → Health → Data Access & Devices → Walk.
